Timeline of craziness.

February:

-Dave will be gone. Not cool.

-14th: Valentines Day. Also the day I get my boob checked out again. Hoping for the best.

-Match list due. Dave and I will have to decide what path we would like to take for the next 4 years of life. It's kind of a big deal.

March:

-Dave will be gone. Not cool.

-16th is Match Day. I think we find out if we matched on the 12th and then we find out where we are going on the 16th. This is craziness. Our fate is in the hands of a computer generated formula.

-16th (10 minutes after the match)- find a realtor. We need to find a house and get going on the move before we have a baby in a few weeks and get kicked out of our apartment on May 31st.

April:

-Baby Newbie is due! I think I'm going to like her/him.

-Recover.

May:

-Pack.

-Move.

-Unpack.

-Recover.

June:

-3rd is Graduation Day! Dave becomes a doctor!! That's Sir. Dr. Cain to you.

-7th is a super sneaky special trip that the kids don't know about. Shhhhh- don't tell them! I'll give you a hint- it rhymes with Schmisney World! I am so excited I want to cry.

-15th Enjoy a couple of weeks of painting/fixing/redoing parts of the house.

July:

-Dave starts residency! And then the real craziness begins.

Why am I not laughing?

I have been trying to figure out why I am not funny anymore. I think it may be because I haven't had anything to complain about for a while and that always makes for a good read. I'm starting to worry that I am turning into an old lady. One that isn't interesting. Or funny. I'm not happy about it.

I'm going to try and recharge my hilariousness and take a look at some of my favorite posts from blogs past:

I said my son has Blue Legs.

Best Ever

Maybe you didn't quite understand

Who's complaining?

This one isn't so much funny, but it is still one of my favorites:

The Best Christmas Present Ever

And my favorite Movie Review:

Twilight.

I hope this can get me back on track.

Here, I am going to say the first thing that pops into my head:

George Carlin's ponytail made me second guess bringing children into the world.

Well? How did I do? Is the funniness back?

The Ironic Un-superbowl Party

We don't watch the superbowl. Dave just isn't that into football and I just get bummed that they got rid of the bud bowl.

So we had an unsuperbowl party for those of us that only watch the superbowl for the commericals. Turns out we didn't even watch the game or the commercials. But get this, after the party- what did we do? We turned on the TV and watched the superbowl.

Hmm.

Randoms time.

I haven't spent a lot of time blogging recently and so I've decided to do some of my randoms to make me feel better about it.

Sleepless in Pennsylvania. Well, mostly it was Sleepless in Salt Lake, but we are still trying to get back on schedule. Miles went to sleep at 6:30 tonight and woke up at 10pm. Two words: inappropriate.

Thomas and Friends. I'm not into Thomas or his friends. I have seen the same Thomas movies time and time again, but I must not be paying attention because now that it is 11:19 in the pm and I am watching them with Miles again- I am seeing entire two or three segments that I haven't ever seen before.
Also, Gordon is a snob.

Walk this way. Faye is 12 months old and isn't even close to walking. She doesn't even want to stand up by herself- which doesn't worry me because Miles started walking at 15 months- but she has this crazy ability to climb any possible surface to reach the zenith of the room. Pray for us.

Ugh. The other day Miles jumped onto a fort (a blanket over two pillows) and landed eye first on the the cement. "Lacey said I landed on the bement and Mom says I need vegetables and fruits to get helpy and strong." He also says things like "Well, that makes me fwustewated!" and "Oh, thank you Mommy! That is fantastic or awesome or great or fabulous or terrific." And his new thing is "Ugh." It's not my favorite. Oh, he also says "That's not my favorite."

Rapunzel. Somehow I have long hair. I don't know when it happened, but the other day it was short and now it is long and coming out in exponential rates in the shower.

My past life. Today I was remembering my high school days and I was a little nostalgic for Gwen Stephani's blue hair, the animaniacs, and after school mac and cheese.

Are you kidding me? Faye just woke up.
This ends me.

Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown

It is Christmas Eve. Miles is asleep and Faye's eye lid's are getting heavy. I love Christmas Eve. I loved it as a kid when there was a little magic in the air and I love it as a mom- there is still magic in the air, but it is just a different brand of pixie dust.

We are spending the night at my parents house in SLC and although I do love my home in Erie- I am not missing it at all. I love being around my family and David's family: playing games (including but not limited to the Wii), eating fattening treats, reading Christmas stories and talking all about Santa and and his reindeer with the kids. Miles is learning about baby Jesus and Mary. His favorite Christmas song is Away in a Manger and my heart grows three sizes every time I hear him singing it.

It isn't Christmas yet, but I feel like I have already been showered with gifts and not in the tangible sense. Being here in Utah I have been learning so much about myself and my kids and life in general. I feel like we are all growing up a little bit. It makes me kind of sad and kind of happy at the same time.

It was Faye's birthday on Dec 22. She is one year old. I'm sure I will post a big birthday love for her soon. I can't believe it has been a year. Pretty soon she will be walking and toddling and she won't be my little baby anymore. I already miss her babyness, but I can't wait for her to start talking and skipping and playing with Miles...

Miles starts primary in a week and a half. It hurts me to think that he is old enough to be so independent. He is in preschool and soon he will be in primary. My heart just shrunk a little bit.

I am excited about life right now and the stages that my kids are in right now. I understand that pretty soon I will be blogging about Miles' first loose tooth or Faye's first bike ride or driver's licenses or graduation. I am certain I will be sad and happy again every year at this time and throughout the rest of the months that aren't December.

So Merry Christmas, Cicely from the future. Remember when Miles got his train set for Christmas and was so excited he didn't want to open any other presents? Remember when we brought Faye home from the hospital on Christmas Eve and she was only 2 days old? Remember when David was in med school and we got by on student loans and love? Those were the good ol' days, eh?

Merry Christmas and Love for the New Year.

Facebook Relationships.

I thought it was sort of understood that Facebook is a way to reconnect or maybe even get to know people from you past. Apparently I was wrong.

I just got Facebook dumped.

I went to elementary, junior high and high school with a charming young fellow. I have always considered him a nice, smart and even witty kid. A week or two ago he was rating some Netflix movies and I commented on a few. He commented back and I guess I thought that it was okay to continue conversing- mainly because he said "continue commenting on my Netflix posts."

Here's the rub-

I checked my Facebook notifications today and here is what I received as a message from him (in more or less words):

Why are we cool now and you didn't talk to me growing up?

Yeah, only here is the thing- I don't remember you talking to me either. In fact, I always thought you were one of those cool kids who knew something about the world that I wasn't in on and I had some growing up to do before I was hip enough to get it.

So there it is.

I just got Facebook dumped.

I like you (blank) and here is why.

I like you Tiffany Collard and here is why:

Because I think you are a real person. You aren't superficial and you care about people in a very sincere way. Also, I think you are perfectly beautiful.

I like you Aly Cain and here is why:

Because when Dave and I see hip people we call them Aly's friends. Your keen eye for style is what I want to have when I grow up. Also, you might be the third funniest person who is reading this blog. Not to mention that if I had a face transplant- I'd choose yours.

I like you Gob Bluthe and here is why:

I saw you on Sesame street this week as Max the Magician and you didn't disappoint with your sweet illusionist moves. And also, I think your wife is the funniest female that has ever been on SNL.

I like you Super Nanny and here is why:

I don't know if you are a mother or are actually a nanny, but I am soaking up every word you say.

I like you Emily Hurst and here is why:

I would be lost without you. ps. Even though it may sound like it- from that last comment I just made- I'm not in love with you or anything. Also, I am very excited for our newest project: The Frog Blog.

Dreams.

Last night I had a dream that I was a snake and I slithered up to Miles' room. He was scared of me and started crying for David. So I went into Faye's room and she gave me a big smile and grabbed me to chew on. Then David came up stairs, threw me on the floor and stomped on my head. Then I turned back into me and we all went to the park. Miles didn't have any pants on.

That's all.

My book.

Today I have been contemplating writing a book the way I always do when I am reading someone elses. I find my mind speaking the same lyrics in which the book was written. Like when I watch Lord of the Rings and think: the knowing winds come swiftly from the north... in my best female perhaps British narrator whisper impression. Or when Dave is watching the lastest "dance your way out the projects" movie and ends each sentence with "mmm girl". He's not black.

And I'm not a writer. Or maybe I am. Who knows.

I sort of believe that most of the books written by beloved authors of the past which are now being scrutinized by high school students worldwide are just words that people wrote down to create a story. I'm sure that some of them wrote the books with a fantastic metaphor in mind, but why can't we just enjoy each one as a good story? Why do we have to see the hidden meaning behind each book?

One of our assignments in ninth grade was to analyze a character from Of Mice and Men. I picked Curley's wife. Although my classmates all thought she was "a skank", I felt bad for the poor girl and decided she was just misunderstood, immature and lonely. It was crap. I just wrote for the sake of turning in a paper that my teacher hadn't already read. And it turned out that a professional editor came in to grade our papers. He told me that he had never seen anyone "at this age" with such an accurate interpretation. This sort of annoyed me.

Why is anyone else's interpretation inaccurate? The book was written to be read by people and make of it what they will. Right? There is no right or wrong way to read it. It's just a story.

Maybe I will write a book. At least just to see what metaphor I was trying to convey to the world. I'm sure it will be mind-blowing.

Today.

Earth Day is Everyday.

Remember to give the world a hug by, cutting down on water usage, unplugging phone/computer chargers when not in use, picking up litter and, as always, reduce, reuse, recycle.

It's the little things that can change the world.

Funny Dancing Tomato Kid

Saw this on Amiee Heffernan's Blog. It needed to be shared.

The Easter Bunny Lives.

The Easter Bunny lives... in my backyard. Well, I'm not actually sure if it is the real Easter Bunny or not, but a bunny is living in my backyard- infact, I think a whoel family of bunnies is living in my backyard.

Also, I saw a squirrel running across my driveway this morning. Oh, and about 50 chipmunks climb in and out of holes that they have dug in our backyard. I think if I go out and start singing- they will bring their other woodland friends out and we could dance and play together.

Or, maybe they just want the trash that we stash next to the garage before garbage day.

I guess we'll never know.

Tag me.

6 Things Tag

My dear friend kindly tagged me. So here are my 6 random things .

1- Post the rules on your blog.
2- List 6 random things about yourself.
3- Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
4- Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. My feet stink in the winter. This personal problem is mostly due to the fact that I don't usually wear socks with my shoes. Here in Dreary Erie- it's too cold not to not wear socks so my feet don't stink this winter. So, thats good news.

2. Dear Abby. I have this friend- Wynter "Abby" Clawson Johnson (who was nice enough to tag me). I never laugh harder than when we are together. Both of our husbands are semi-reserved and when we go out they kind of hang back hoping that we won't embarrass them with our loudness. We usually do*.

*Remember me! Abby Clawson Class of 2001?!
*Cobwebs! She's got cobwebs!
*CanIhavesome? More like Kihansum.
...Oh, the never ending inside jokes. Now Cicely will do a dance.

3. Magic Carpet Ride. Yesterday my son was watching Aladdin with my Mom and when Aladdin and Jasmin are cuddling on the carpet- he said, "look! It's Mommy and Daddy." Does that mean we are going to overboard with the PDA?

4. Sometimes I take a nap on Saturday night and wake up to watch SNL. Dave and I love it. It's worth the tiredness the next morning.

5. I miss snowboarding, volleyball, summer swimming, and playing with my band.

6. I am blissfully happy. I can't remember the last time Dave and I had a fight and I have the most beautiful, adorable, lovable kids on earth.

I TAG YOU- people with J's in their name: Davey Jeffey, Jenn Elton, Jolyne, Julie Keith, Jax Bair Holt, and Ali Mae Johnson.

Well, there you have it. I'm looking forward to reading those of you who I tagged!! Especially you- David.

The First Day of Chirstmas

I love Christmas time. The only word I can think to describe it is- magical.

Everyone is a little sweeter. We try and focus on things that are truly important to us. We remember the savior at times that we normally might not. We spend real time together as families.

I love hot chocolate and popcorn. I love listening to children's Christmas music. I love putting lights up on the tree and the smell of pine. I love cuddling on the couch to watch cheesy holiday movies and crying uncontrollably. I love candles and cookies and wreaths and snow and I especially love mistletoe.

I love that I put up my nativity set and that Miles knows who Baby Jesus is. I love that I am going to have a little Christmas baby girl who I can teach and love and who will always remind me of the most beautiful time of the year.

Merry Christmas everyone. Lets focus on the good this season.

My plugs.

I think I'm going to start my movie reviews again. Of course, I could be lying.

But, I am getting into book clubs. Here is our Book Club Blog site if you are interested.

My new obsession. If you come up with anything good, let me know.

Also, it has come to my attention that some people don't know about Google Reader. If you don't, you ought to. It will save you hours of blogging time.

Blah.

That is how I'm feeling today.

I woke up unhappy. I thought maybe if I got out of the house it would help my mood.

Miles and I had big plans today- maternity pants shopping, zoo, nap, pumpkin patch, dinner. We went shopping and when we got to the zoo Miles had passed out. His sleeping has been quite erratic lately.

I need to turn my frown upside down. Hmph. I'll work on that.

Things that make you go hmm.....

Does anyone remember the C + C Music Factory? I do.

I have no intentions for this post. In fact, I just sat here for a good 45 seconds trying to come up with something to write. And nothing came to mind. I guess I will just pot some things I've been thinking about recently...

-I'm in the nursery in my ward. Today I was reading a story about dump trucks to a 2 year-old when he said this: "excavator!" How does this kid know what an excavator is? I didn't know what an excavator was until I read that book. How many other things don't I know that most 2 years do?

-The R button on my laptop comes off almost everytime I use it. It's awesome.

-Why do I feel bad that Miles doesn't know what an fork lift is?

-I wonder if my sister Sabrena ever gets mad that her childhood wish of getting a chocolate cake the size of the world never came true.

-I think I'm going to make myself a banana split.

-Miles wouldn't eat any lunch or dinner. Is it wrong for me to put him down for the night without giving him something to eat first? Am I starving my baby?

-I just started reading our book club book called- The Professor and The Madmad by Simon Winchester. I'm pretty sure I'm the stupidest person on the planet. I wish I was smart like Sabrena.

-I wish I was strong like Cassandra.

-I wish I was passionate like Celeste.

-I wish I was just like my Mom.

-I wish I could call my grandma right now.

-I really love my husband. Like more than a friend.

-Last night I had a dream that my belly got so big that David had to get a crane to lift me out of bed. And also most of my teeth had fallen out.

-This morning I wanted a crane to lift me out of bed. My teeth are still in tact.

-We stopped all TV watching and snacks at out our house. Miles is an entirely different person. I do feel bad that sometimes I down some marshmallows while he isn't looking, but I still do it.

-Sometimes I feel like if I wanted to badly enough I could write. Not well, but I could write. I could write my thoughts, my theories, or about my past and present and maybe what I want my future to become. I could put them all together in a random pattern and people could read them. Or not. And then I remember I have a blog. And I use it to do just that. I love blogging.

-I also love to say it. "Blogging."

Well, I guess that's all for now. I'm peacing out.

Pardon Me- while I burst.

Alright, Alright. I know it's been a while.

Here's what has happened...

Good: Miles couldn't be cuter. He is becoming such a little boy. His latest thing is to make the gear shift changes for motorcycles. It's the cutest thing in the history of the world. I love that he is getting to the point that he is pretending with trucks and little people and what not.

Bad: My car got broken into. My guitar, my library books and DVD's, some medication, and the registration and insurance were stolen. They were nice enough to leave the paper napkins that I had taken to the primary talent show in the car for me. Thanks friends.

Good: My husband is the sweetest person alive. How he deals with me everyday- I don't know, but I love him more than anything on earth.

Bad: The other day it was a perfect spring morning and I looked out the window to greet the day only to find a dog taking a dump on my lawn. Of course, the man walking his dog didn't clean up after him and because I was in my knickers I couldn't go yell at him. So that was bad.

Good: The rest of the day I had the Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree song in my head, only I came up with clever lyrics about my experience that morning and it made me feel better about the situation. I'd share them with you, but David said it wouldn't be a good idea.

Good: I'm really excited to move to Erie.

Bad: I can't get motivated enough to clean my house- let alone pack it.

Good: Pandora.com is my saving grace. I have created the best ever station. If anyone would like me to share it with them- just let me know.

Good: David is a grad! I'm so proud of him. I will post pictures soon.

Good: David Archuletta is not Aletting me down anymore. He's in the top two! Although, did anyone realize that he forgot part of that second song? Why didn't the judges say anything about it?

Bad: I’ll tell you what did let me down was the sight of Mayor Dan Snarr's sorry mustache on national television. I wish they could've added an asterisk at the bottom of the screen that said- "This mustache is not typical Salt Lake City practice."

Good: I got to talk to Sister Cain on Mother's day. (That is my sister-in-law on a mission if you didn't know.) It was so nice. I miss her guts.

Good: David got me the best mother's day gift ever! Killer Bunnies is my new favorite game. Thanks again, Keiths, for the introduction.

Well, that is all for now. I'll post some new pics and hopefully something exciting soon.

Peace to the mizzax.
