I thought it was sort of understood that Facebook is a way to reconnect or maybe even get to know people from you past. Apparently I was wrong.
I just got Facebook dumped.
I went to elementary, junior high and high school with a charming young fellow. I have always considered him a nice, smart and even witty kid. A week or two ago he was rating some Netflix movies and I commented on a few. He commented back and I guess I thought that it was okay to continue conversing- mainly because he said "continue commenting on my Netflix posts."
Here's the rub-
I checked my Facebook notifications today and here is what I received as a message from him (in more or less words):
Why are we cool now and you didn't talk to me growing up?
Yeah, only here is the thing- I don't remember you talking to me either. In fact, I always thought you were one of those cool kids who knew something about the world that I wasn't in on and I had some growing up to do before I was hip enough to get it.
So there it is.
I just got Facebook dumped.

you should have said "we're still not cool. it was just netflix"
Ha Ha Ha Ha - I'm curious who the the Oakridge Olympian is.
Havalah- I'm super impressed that you know what Oakridge is, but I didn't actually go there. I did live across the street from it, but not until my junior high years.
How did you know? This will keep me up at night until I hear otherwise.
Oh friend, I sill think it's hilarious!!! LOVES!
Tally- Ha! I just realized that you were Tally! I saw the Turner part and thought you were a friend from church here in Erie, PA.
Man! That was funny.
This cracks me up...totally.
Similar experience, I found an old friends from Upsilon's blog and left a comment about how it was so fun to see her blah blah blah. The next week her blog was blocked and she never sent a message back even though I left her my blog address and email. Hmmmm. I guess I'm one of those creeps that makes people want to make their blogs private? I'm curious who this guy was...
