My Grandma Lambert
Last Friday, my Grandma went to exercise in the morning, lunch in the afternoon and then took a nap and never fully woke up. She has been such an amazing grandmother, role model and friend to me and all of her millions of other grandchildren.
I have such great memories of her and of Grandpa. She was constantly worried about and taking care of everyone she came in contact with. She would always offer "just a sliver of pie", "a little root beer float", "a tiny dish of raspberries and sugar", "just one cookie" and any other small helping of anything that never turned out to be small.
She had a party for every occasion- all types and sizes. If more than three people were there she always said, "It's a party!" And it was.
She had a song that she would sing for every possible occasion. She had a beautiful voice and sang till the very end. Even this week, as she was laying in bed, unable to move, she opened her mouth to try and sing with us as we sang some of her favorite hymns and songs.
She always had a beautiful yard and a clean house. She made delicious breads, jams and cookies. She had a recipe for every spill or stain.
She has always been so positive and sweet. She never said anything bad about anyone and she genuinely cared for everyone.
She loves Grandpa so much. I had never seen or heard her and Grandpa be cross with each other. Once I asked her if they had ever fought and she said, "Grandpa didn't like to fight. The only thing I remember having an argument with him about was which type of ice cream would be best."
I'm so grateful for all she has done for David, Miles and me. We have learned so much from her. I'm so blessed that we got to live and spend time with her. I love her so much and am so excited that she gets to go be with her sweetheart soon. She is amazing.
I love you Grandma.
