I said my son has blue legs.

You heard me.

The other day, I was changing Miles' pants when I noticed how dirty he looked. Well, not so much dirty as blue. Just on his legs. And mainly just on his thighs. So I immediately did what I normally do when their is a crisis such as this and called in my husband to either tell me I'm crazy or tell me to rush him to the hospital.

"Yep. Blue legs. I wouldn't worry about too much," he said.

One hour, a bath, and a scrubbing later... still blue legs.

I'm calling the doctor. Here is a sample of my conversation with the nurse:

- Yes, I'm calling because my son has blue legs and I'm worried that they might fall off at any second.

-I'm sorry. Say that again.?

-Blue Legs. My son has blue legs.

-Blue Legs?

-Blue Legs. As in legs that are blue. Should I be worried about this? Or is this another one of those things that happens often, but I never hear about.

-... ... Um, ... I've never heard of anyone having blue legs before. Why don't you wait an hour or so and if they are still blue- call us back and we will fit you in.

So I waited. And they never changed. I called back.

The doctor wasn't too worried either. We checked his oxygen and it was fine. He thought is was a stain of some sort. Although, he hasn't worn anything new and I've washed all of his clothes several times.

After a few days Blue Legs were gone and I was feeling much better. Then, just a few days ago, it happened again. Blue Legs are back!

Are you kidding me? One time I may have fed him too many blueberries. Is my child turning into Violet Beauregarde? He has been looking a little chubs lately...

I'll let you know if he needs a juicing.

"Your turning violet, Violet".

This is too strange. You will have to let us all know what the deal is when you figure it out.

Hmm.. Could be from the pants he was wearing..jeans or dark colored pants can color you skin. Well..at least it has happened to me before.

HAHA! I think this might be one of my favorite posts of all time, especially the part of your conversation with the dr.'s office.

Abby loves blueberries and ate a ton of them at my mom's house. Her legs didn't turn blue though. By the way, sorry we didn't connect while I was in UT. Between babysitting, driving to Logan and visiting family... I'll for sure try again in the summer!

So this is really crazy, but my sister's baby really turns blue when she is cold (she doesn't even have to be really cold, just cool). The doctor told her it just happens to some kids, just a reaction to the cooler temp. Crazy stuff!

Hi. I know n understand your scared feeling. the weird thing is my legs, back, n underarms turn blue. the dr.s dont know either what is wrong w me to do that. they always blame it on the cold.even though it wasnt cold outside all the time it happened. I had a frined and her legs turned blue as well. i just wonder if it is circulatory issues, or just plain ok n nothing to worry about. pls let me know if u find anything useful out. thank u. Kareina
