Prego Log #2: The Move

Well, I think things have really turned around. I have only puked once in the past few days and it is like a dream come true! I wouldn't say that I am feeling "well," but at least I am functioning and able to get a few things done here and there. One big plus is that Miles has stopped lifting the lid and pretending to throw-up every time he sees the toilet. I'm really excited about that. As long as I have a constant flow of Tic-Tac's- I'll be fine. And yes, I believe in the power of a good placebo.

Moving on... (Pun absolutely intended) Today is the big day. The moving van is here and David has been working hard to get it loaded. If I were Andy Samburg from SNL I would say "we're gonna pack it up nice"- Well, I'd say it even if I wasn't him...

We're gonna pack it up nice.

And nice we have. In fact, David is finishing up the heavy stuff while Miles and I are selfishly waking up from a nap. I use pregnancy as an excuse for a lot of things.

Anyway, David begins the trek to Erie tomorrow morning at about 4 am. Good luck, my friend. Then we close on our very first purchase of a home on Monday! The youngings and I will be flying on July 6th so if you are in SLC and we haven't had our goodbye hangouts- call me right now. And if you're in Erie and want to become my best friend- call me on July 7th.

Peace to the mizzax.

Prego Log #1

Well, I'm stilling having trouble keeping anything down and so yesterday I had to go get my second IV. Apparently I was so dehydrated that the nurse couldn't find any blood.

She was searching for a useful vein for about 10 minutes and when she thought she finally got one, she poked me serached for about two minutes and nothing came out. So she tried again. This time she poked around for about five minutes (did I mention the burning pain?) and when I would whince she said this, "talk to me- tell me what's going on..." So I said, "Well, it just feels like there is a needle in my arm and it's a bit prickly."

After that- she said that she was done trying and that the doctor would have to do it. He came in, gave it one good look and said he was going to pass it off to someone who he knew wouldn't have a problem. I was grateful.

Finally, we got it done and after the shivers, two large blankets and a heat lamp, we went home. I finally kept down some food last night and it was like a dream.

Pregnancy hates me.

My Brush with Death

Remember on Clueless when Ty is flirting at the mall and her boyfriends almost hang her over the edge?

I do.

This week has been rough. I've been sick. Really sick. So sick that Tuesday I had to go get sugarless Gatorade pumped into my veins to get me and The Fetus hydrated. It was a rough go.

Then, on my second bag, it got worse. I started shaking, coughing and felt like there was an anvil on my chest. The doctor came in and told my Mom that she needed to rush me to the emergency room to get tested for a blood clot in my lungs. Are you kidding me? I knew that it wasn't that big of deal, and that it would go away in a few minutes, but the doctor wouldn't listen. It was a bit ridiculous.

So, by the time we get to the hospital, I feel fine (other than the constant nausea, of course) and after about 6 hours and probably $6,000 in fees, I was free to go.

So, I, like Ty, had my brush with death- even though neither of us were really close to death in the first place.

"Right before you die, your mind just gets very clear. It's very spiritual..."

Poem #2: I give up.

Are you kidding me? I'm sick again!
When will this lameness ever end?

I spend my time both night and day
Either in my bed or puking away.

I'm really bad at being sick
Be it a ringworm or even a tiny tick

I just don't function very well
It's like I'm under a crappy spell

I nearly peed my pants, but didn't fight
when the doctor said "it's a parasite".

Only this little bug has arms and legs
I'm sick, of course, because I'm pregs!

That's right team, if you didn't already know, I'm having baby #2! Junior is scheduled to arrive December 30, 2008. We are really excited to meet our new little friend.

I'm sick, as I mentioned, but I plan to start feeling better yesterday- so things ought to be turning around soon.

More details to follow.
